It’s a new year, which means it’s time to start new habits that will make you a better…well, you. We asked around the office to see what resolutions the Presta Team is making.It seems that as we get older, we make less time for making new friends. So in 2016, we vow to turn off our computers, put down our phones and get out and meet new people! We’re going to join, attend PrestaShop community events, and say “yes” to the nextsocial media marketing world invitation we receive. It’s a great way to practice our social skills and maybe even make some new friends. Who knows? If you try it too, you might just meet your next business partner!Entrepreneurs, let’s just admit it: we’re workaholics. Our drive to solve everyday problems makes us successful at our business. But this year, we’re going to put the problem solving on hold for a bit. We’re hitting the road. Whether it’s taking short cruise or driving the length of Route 66, we’re determined to see another part of the world. Although it may feel like time taken away from our business, we’re going to use it as time to refuel and maybe even come up with some new ideas for the company. Adopt a pet. Having a dog may seem counterintuitive: do you really need more responsibility? But having someone else depend on you also gives you motivation to get your life in order: get up early every morning (forget about sleeping until noon), eat at reasonable meal times, get home at a decent hour…establishing a regular rhythm will help you keep your store on track as well. And best of all, you’ll get plenty of love all day long, which will decrease social media marketing tips stress levels and boost your morale when you’re filling out all your product data sheets! There’s a saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Well, thank goodness you’re not a dog. :) With such a wide variety of online resources available, it’s easier than ever to learn something new. We suggest learning how to code. Not only will you start to understand what your developer is saying, but you might be able to squash some bugs on your website yourself!

New Year’s Resolutions for Marketing Your Business

We won’t blame you if you don’t make it to the gym that much (or at all) in January. There’s no problem if those inside chores social media marketing tools wait until spring. And we certainly won’t rat on you if the scale tells a sad tale next month. But, there are a few New Year’s Resolutions you need to keep, and these are for your business. The next couple of weeks is a great time to get some work done so you can hit the ground running in 2016.As a small business owner, it is so easy to get caught up in day to day activities. Before you know it, a week has gone by and you’ve basically been doing the marketing equivalent of treading water. You need goals to keep you grounded and focused, but they must be measurable. No cheating on this one – if you can’t prove it on paper then it’s fluff. And your goals must be realistic. They shouldn’t be easy, but don’t set yourself up for failure. Tweet more, hand out more business cards, sponsor an event, hold an open house, and while we have your attention, why not… Let’s face it – if your customers and their friends were all congregating in certain places at certain times of the day, you’d want to take advantage of this information, right? Of course you would. Social media is today’s water cooler – a place where people hang out with each other and talk, often about purchasing decisions or business issues they want to solve. For the marketing social media owner, these represent perfect opportunities to engage with people who are (for example) talking about your industry, a product you make, or a solution that you can provide. Use the available online research to determine which social media platform(s) is best for you, then listen, build relationships, and offer suggestions. Before you know it, you will have a new business pipeline.

NEW YEAR'S BEER RESOLUTIONS FOR 2016

2016 marks the 10 Year Anniversary of Drink Craft Beer. 10 years! It’s been a great ride, and we’ve come a long way. But never fret, we’ve got more to come. When you hit a milestone like this, sometimes it’s nicebenefits of social media marketing to reflect a bit, and it being the New Year and all, I figured it was a perfect time for some New Year’s Resolutions. While these are ostensibly for 2016, in reality these resolutions go farther out than just this year. All in all, let’s get back to the roots with beer, let’s learn to love beer again...let’s drink craft beer! So here we go.And the corollary here is “Order more pints.” There’s only so well you can get to know a beer in a few ounces. I want to get to know fewer beers way better this year. You want to recommend a beer you loved? If you tell me you had a 4 oz of it, and that’s it, I’m not listening to you. A sample is a great place to start. But that’s exactly what it is, a place to start.Also, it’s WAY harder to be social when you and your friends are all buried in sample boards. Buy a round of pints and be social. It’s 2016...you don’t have to worry about going to the best beer bar in town to get a good brew now. So, instead, worry about getting a great group of people together and figure out where you’ll all have fun. If that’s not local craft beer hub, that’s fine. Even run of the mill, mainstream bars have at least one of two decent offerings now. Hell, I was in a generic “Irish Pub” in suburban wasteland Massachusetts and had more than a couple great offerings on tap to choose from. A decent beer with great friends will ALWAYS be a better night than a great beer with lesser friends, or without using social media for marketing friends at all. I love hops, so don’t get me wrong here. I’m not saying to stop drinking IPAs. Far from it. Just, let’s try some other styles, too. There’s a million IPAs already and, by the time I’m done with this sentence, 5 more will have hit the market (*totally made up fact). All I’m saying is, don’t get in a beer rut. Try some other styles. Drink a Gose. Have a good lager. Find a Hefeweizen. Hell, I’d forgotten how good Belgian Wits can be until I had an Allagash White a few months ago. That’s a damn good beer! Let’s try more new stuff in 2016.
