I will not use followers and likes as the sole measure of success

So you have one million likes or followers, awesome. So your wall is closed and you have zero interaction with your fans, not social media marketing for dummies so awesome. Likes and follows are cool, but in today’s sophisticated social media world, we all know they’re not enough. If all you are looking for is followers, there isn’t much point in investing in social media, the whole point is to have an active voice and engage in a two-way conversation with your customers. Today’s marketing world is all about being where the consumer is and having an approachable voice that your fans want to interact with. Do it right or don’t bother.Especially when it comes to content strategy. Yes, your fans want to see and hear what you have to say, but they don’t want to see constant marketing pitches and shameless, self-serving advertisements. They want to be your friend. So again, go for quality. This isn’t to say you can’t post about yourself, that’s the whole reason they are following you, but try to spice it up a little, add some variety. Let your fans know what’s going on behind the scenes, get them to participate in contests, retweet them, post their Instagram pictures. Fans get a thrill in seeing themselves on a brand’s wall, so encourage them to engage with you and you’ll soon find you have a lot more brand advocates than you thought!Being a robot also refers to your everyday interactions, so Community Managers listen up! It’s fine to have a generic answer for some types of comments, but DO NOT use it incessantly. This is the social media equivalent to speaking to a robot in a call center, it’s the worst, and trust us, it gets people mad, fast. Try to personalize social media marketing definition the messages a little bit and make sure they know there is a human behind the brand, people are a lot more sympathetic in that situation.

Making Every Move Count

Usually around this time of year there is a lot of talk about what’s going to be the “big thing” in 2016. From the information we gathered, it looks like long-term planning social media marketing firm and strong campaigns are going to be a focus in 2016. Digital Marketing is no longer the new kid on the block. Businesses and marketers see the benefits and realize the strength of well-built campaigns. In 2016, our goal is to plan, plan, plan. A lot of what we do in our marketing efforts can be spontaneous and last-minute, but our marketing team recently started using a project management system that will allow for a lot more strategic planning for the future. This will allow for higher quality, less stress, and better ROI all-around.Everything I do, every piece of content I create, every project I start will have a very clear, very specific purpose. That purpose will directly contribute to the achievement of the marketing goal whether it’s direct response, relationship-building, or SEO for example. And, I will have a way to measure success for each activity before I begin. Our 2016 budget will focus on marketing that can show us results. This means that a lot of our efforts are going to be shifted into the digital realm where we can attach hard numbers to results. We’ve been successful so far, now we’re going to double down on our current campaigns. This funding is coming from the slashed budgets of offline advertising.Marketing has to have more of a purpose. For example, if we’re running an outbound sales campaign through email, we want to do the following: Test social media marketing firms if the channel can be successful (1). Measure the ROI of that channel (2). Provide a case study for our audience (3). Learn about where our product (and outreach software) can be improved (4). So, in the past we would have slapped together a campaign and sent out some emails, but now we work on coming up with a refined, scalable process and measuring the results.

Share your skills with others.

Jumping on opportunities to share your skills with others through public speaking engagements isn't just beneficial for social media marketing books your audience -- it's also a great way to present yourself as an expert, increase your visibility both online and offline, and build your personal brand. Plus, getting your name out there in the context of your job is beneficial for your company, too. Talk with your manager about opportunities your company can get you in on, like local meet-ups or conferences. You could also get in touch with a university and offer a guest lecture -- after all, there's something very rewarding about inspiring future talent. Regardless of what "next" means for you -- changing your title, getting more responsibilities, starting your own thing -- you can set out to accomplish it this year. While it may take longer than a year to fully accomplish the career goal, setting up a plan for yourself to make big, life-changing moves isn't a bad thing. If your goal is really monstrous, try breaking it into a year-over-year plan, and using the social media in marketing first year plan as the basis for your resolutions. We live in a culture of competitive sleep deprivation -- and it's getting out of hand. Getting enough sleep has a huge impact on your health, energy, productivity, and happiness, and lack of sleep is downright unnatural.
